Rhonda's House in Wichita

This is Rhonda's house in Wichita. It's so cute. Very 1950s. She was sweet enough to put Dad and I up for couple of nights. We had the best time hanging out and visiting.

This is my new car: a 2004 Mercury Sable. If you know our family, you know we're crazy about a Mercury. So far I've put 800 miles on it in this trip and we haven't even gone out to do VBS yet!

Weakley Cemetery

This is the Weakley Cemetery where my great-grandparents are buried. It is extremely well kept up, and there were several people there visiting their loved ones for Memorial Day.

The Old Armstrong Family Farm

This is the old Armstrong family farm outside of Fredonia, KS near New Albany. My dad says that they've added onto the house and painted the barn and the "tile building," but that it looks mostly the same as he remembered. I got to hear many stories about my great-grandparents that I'd never heard of before on this trip. It was so special.
According to my dad, this is the church both my grandma (Mimi) and Aunt Marty got married in. It's a Methodist church in Fredonia, KS and it's the same church that Dick and Gene attend now. It's located only a few blocks from their house.

These were taken in Fredonia, KS up on the South Mound. The flag is huge, and the view is beautiful. The mascot in Fredonia is the yellow jacket, which is painted on the side of the water tower in the picture above.

Welcome to Kansas!

This picture was taken just outside Caney, KS on our way from Bartlesville, OK. We spent the night in Bartlesville after driving clean through Tulsa on 75 without seeing a single hotel. The first day of driving was long, but worth it for how far we made it. Unfortunately, we hit a record amount of road construction during our travels through Texas and Oklahoma. That slowed us down some, but overall we made pretty good time.

It's Kansas!
